Devils Tower Drive
I spent a long weekend last month in Denver shooting some interiors for my good friend Heidi. On the drive back to Minnesota I decided to take the longer route and swing by Devils Tower at the last minute.
I've since become a big fan of doing things in the off season. It was so great to drive up to this geological masterpiece and not have to deal with any crowds or cars or basically anybody at all.
More photos to come from this trip in the nearish future.
Golden Gate Screen-Lapse
Click to embiggen.Recently I got to spend a few days in San Francisco and I'm finally finding the free time to dig through some of my shots. Who can go to SFO without doing the whole Golden Gate Bridge thing.
This particular photo consists of about 75 different shots to get this look. I wish I had more time that day to wait for the sun to get into the right position. I hope the fact that I've removed all the cars from the Golden Gate Bridge comes through on the final image as well.
To give you a sense of what all goes into my work I've created a screen-lapse of my retouching process. Enjoy.

Video IVEY Awards
I was able to work with Brew Creative on a project recently for the the IVEY Awards. The IVEY Awards are Minnesota's theatre awards and they've got a big show coming up towards the end of September and needed a campaign to promot it. Brew Creative approached me to shoot three scenes and they would have William Clark shoot some people to be placed into them.
First was the Minnesota State Fair Grand Stand which we shot a couple of months ago well before the fair opened up. Second was a dock on Seagull Lake on the edge of the BWCAW. Third was Blake School's Ice Rink.
Finding the dock shot was the hardest. We drove all the way up the Gun Flint Trail to find that shot but I love the way it turned out.
So, I was walking down Nicollet today and came across a couple of them in the wild. They are in the window of the JB Husdon Jewelrys on 9th. I've also seen them at a bunch on bus stops and I've been told they may end up on some of those fancy light up digital billboards around the cities.

Views from the Guthrie Theater
There was a day last week when the coulds over Minneapolis where just perfect. I didn't have much free time that day but I forced myself to leave the studio for a half an hour so I could go to the Guthrie and shoot some landscapes.
These are all taken in the Dowling Lobby on the 9th floor and if you haven't been there the windows are this funky yellow color. Thought I might as well leave the yellow in the photos for the most part.
At some point in time I would like to revisit the middle photo of the Dowling Lobby and bring some flats with me to block out some of the reflections in the room off the window but that day it wouldn't have been possible to block them off.
Steampunk
I took a super long ride on my Vespa Sunday all over Minneapolis and St. Paul looking for landscapes. This was the very last photo that I took for the day and I almost didn't do it but I think it turned out quite well.
I love the steam coming up out of what ever the hell that building actually is. I'm guessing it's a cancer factory.
I'm still digging through everything I shot last fall in New York and just last week in San Francisco but expect more photos to come shortly.
San Francisco
I just got back last night from San Francisco and it was gorgeous.
One of the nights there we went to a southern part of the city where there is this wonderful hill that over looks the whole city. I shot of ton of photos there but I just grabbed this one this morning and did some quick work on it to show the world. Expect some more from this series to appear shortly.
There are some interesting ones coming from the Science Academy of California too!
Enjoy!
