Well Here We Are
Objects in Space
I’ve always felt that photography isn’t solely a two-dimensional medium and that it matters how we, as photographers, present our images. Photographing product and product lifestyle images over the years has made me think even more about making tactile pieces that show how objects live and interact in their own spaces, in their own worlds.
Understanding how objects interact with their space is fundamental to understanding photography. Each image is a puzzle to solve and a world to build. I don’t just ‘light’ an object; I create a world for it to inhabit.
This newspaper is a concerted effort to acknowledge the third dimension, and I hope it will both inspire creative ideas and challenge the way you think about images and objects in space.
Special thanks to Mat Gibilisco for his creative help on this project. I also wanted to give a shout out to Tiffany Wilson and Noah Mana who modeled for many images in this newspaper.
